I am India

I am India,

I am a voice

I am India,

Where I get a choice

I am India,

Where my vernacular diversity shines

I am India,

The sign of changing times

Yet,

I am India,

Where it is this diversity that divides me

I am India,

Where am I really free?

For the infanticide,

Lies and bribes,

Women’s rights

And caste plights

Have left me

Like crumbling pieces of paper

Withering away with time

A self destruct mode

Where only ashes are left behind
